5 Easy Steps to Invite Chi into Your Home and Keep It Circulating

by Derec Shuler on November 13, 2008

Feng Shui 1. Outside – Make sure that standing out from the street and looking at your home or office that it is inviting. If there is brush blocking the walkway or if it looks drab from the outside, you might want to think about painting the building or even just the front door. Prune all bushes back so the building and landscape looks cared for.

2. Doors - First check all of the doors in the house. Make sure they are in working order and can open to their fullest capacity. The front door of your home or office is your main source of chi whether you use it or not. If it is cramped in any way or the door sticks and is hard to open it will impede on the chi flow in the rest of your space.

3. Windows – Make sure you can see out all of your windows freely. Make sure there isn’t any furniture blocking your view of the outdoors as well as things on the outside of the house blocking windows. It works both ways. If possible put things outside that will make your view more beautiful. If there is a wall right outside your window from where you sit, see if you can hang something on the wall outside that will make it more interesting.

4. Bathrooms - If you can see the toilet from the bathroom door, hang a 40 mm round faceted crystal from the ceiling between the door and the toilet. The toilet is the mother of all chi drains. Keeping the toilet lid down and hanging a crystal will keep the chi circulating in the space rather than it going straight down the toilet. The crystal should be hung on 9 inches of red cord. The cord can be doubled so the crystal only hangs down 4.5 inches.

5. Plants – Plants are a great source of vibrancy to have in your home. They can perk up or soften a room that feels stagnant or sterile. Think about adding plants in corners or on your desk to soften the space and keep chi circulating.
