WalkScore Map for Denver

We’ve written about Walkscore in previous posts , which is a tool to score homes and condos, or any address for that matter, for walkability. Taking this one step further, Walkscore now has a heat map showing a walk index for all Denver neighborhoods and communities, which is useful in helping Denver area home and condo buyers determine where they want to relocate or live.

Helping Home Buyers Find Sustainable Communities and Neighborhoods

Derec Shuler, real estate broker with Mile High Urban Living and real estate agent at Innovative Real Estate says “this is a great step forward in helping Denver home buyers find communities that allow for walkable living and sustainable lifestyles.  We’re seeing technology adapt to meet the needs of consumers and we’re excited about tools like this becoming available to help our clients.”

He continued, “We’re working to offer a WalkScore on listings that appear on our website since we focus on these walkable communities like LoDo, Riverfront, Cherry Creek, Capitol Hill, and the Highlands.  More people are wanting to live and play in the same areas and WalkScore is helping them make the right choice on where to buy a home.”

We also look forward to a WalkScore iPhone application that uses the iPhone GPS to give people these same information and know it will be here soon!

I love this idea!!! Do you have any idea how soon the iPhone app will be out and what will the price point be for the app?

Nick, I don’t know their plans for an iPhone app but since they just opened up their application interface, I’m sure it won’t be long before someone puts it together! Derec

Walk Score is now available for metro Denver homes on REcolorado.com.

Search for homes and click on any of the listings for detailed information. Walk Score rating is located below the property address.

Melissa, it was great to see Colorado real estate sites on the cutting edge of including Walk Score once they opened their API. Congrats! Derec
