If you’ve played around on the Internet looking for real estate information, you’ve probably run across a site called Zillow . They’re famous for their online home information and Zestimates, or Zillow Estimates (as a real estate professional these can be pain since they’re way off in some areas and it’s can be hard communicating those reasons to consumers). At Mile High Urban Living , we’re huge fans of technology and being able to provide resources to help consumers have a better experience and empower them with market information .
Online Denver Real Estate Tools Meet the iPhone
I’ve written about the Trulia real estate application for the iPhone which remains a great tool in your Denver real estate knowledge arsenal . Zillow has just released a cool product of their own for iPhone, simply called Zillow Real Estate . When the application is started, enable the GPS finder to determine your present location and it will give you an area map. If you’re walking, this map will update as you move along.

Interpreting Denver Real Estate Information Using the Zillow Application
Once information is displayed for homes or condos in your area, you’ll notice icons with several different colors.
- The red icons are Denver homes or condos currently for sale,
- yellow are recently sold homes or condos,
- blue is a Zillow "buy me now price" home that aren’t on the market but the home owners would sell at that home value, and
- the diamonds are homes that haven’t had recent real estate activity but the Zestimates are available.
You can scroll across the map by dragging your finger across the display or zoom in and out using the iPhone "pinch." For quick information on a property, click the icon as seen below.

Quick Information
Detailed Denver Home and Condo Information
When you click again on the home or condo information, you get another screen with more detailed information. If the home is currently for sale, you’ll see the current list price, number of bedrooms, bathroom, square feet, and the year built. Another really neat feature is that it will also allow you to see pictures of the home that’s it’s pulled from the Denver MLS listing data. Scrolling down, you’ll see the (in)famous Zillow data on the home as well as public data on the most recent sale date and amount along with annual property taxes. Finally, the most recent sold homes comparable to the home or condo will be listed along with links to those properties.
Other Great Denver Real Estate Tools For Home Buyers and Sellers
Regardless of whether you’re currently on the market for a home or condo, this is a fun tool to download and have at your fingertips. Some other great resources available from Mile High Urban Living are our industry leading Denver map-based home and condo search and the Market Snapshot Home Valuation report which automatically gives you information on current listings and sales in an area along with neighborhood information.

Spencer from Zillow here.
Thank you for the great review.
Here’s a video of a Brooklyn broker who’s dumping his Blackberry for an iphone because of the Zillow app.
